The Element was perfect! I went on a mini-roadtrip starting in Oakland, down to Santa Cruz and up the coast back to San Francisco, then to Yosemite and Sequoia. It's compact enough to drive with ease and it rides smooth! Brakes, heating and air, and speakers were in perfect working order making the ride all the better. Being able to park and rest was super convenient, and it worked out for me in the parks and in the most beautiful places. Since it's small and easy to park, you can park it just about anywhere! The bed in the back was surprisingly comfortable. I slept great! The hardest night I had sleeping was related to how cold it was in Yosemite (in December) but I stayed warm enough under the right blankets. The mattress was soft and there was just enough room for me to stretch out. I'm 5'6", so I think anyone taller might have a harder time stretching out as comfortably. There is also a sunroof right above the bed which I loved. Perfect for looking up at the stars in the comfort of a bed and warmth! There are curtains that shelter 360° around the bed and a shade for the roof above the bed if you want to block out the light. Gas mileage is also reasonable! In California I spent anywhere from $35-$45 to fill it but I never let it run empty.
