I rented an RV from Jacob with the intent to go to Yosemite park as I indicated on Outdoorsy site, 900 miles away. To be told at pick up RV is old and needs frequent rests and can't drive that far. And he also changed the allotted mileage from 200mpd in the PDF I was send to 100pmd with surcharge of 1$/m over, which would have added a lot more $ to our trip. The 13th he did not show me how to check the fluids and we were forced to spend the night there and he went to work without showing me how to check the fluids or to give me copy of contract I signed he later changed when I asked for a copy. The pages I signed with initials were removed and replaced with another contract. The service Engine light was on with test drive and the owner said not to worry, it was serviced. I send him picture of it on the 14th and again on the 17th days later when it was still on and he didn't advice to get it checked. The vehicle had no current registration papers either. I had the choice of taking this RV or not at onset, so I took it based upon his word that it was ok. With the problems that I told him about in multiple communications from me to him resulted in nothing more but advise to pull over, stop our trip, let the engine cool down and check the fluids. We paid for 2 week rental, and after one week ended up almost dying driving on 101 when the engine seized up, power steering and brake went out, and we almost coasted off the cliff. We had traveled a total of +/- 500 miles total. The dashboard had wires that were disconnected so no warning lights came on ( i have picture of all, including checking fluids and wires). We were stuck in the parking lot of a mechanic shop in the RV the night the RV broke down and had to wait till it opened 2 days later on Monday. Tow trucks were going in and out all day and night. The owner never contacted us to see if we were ok. The rental car place was closed as well, so our vacation was majorly messed up. I had to spend a lot of money renting car, staying in hotels, and eating out, to get back to where my car was at the owners place. It was incredibly traumatizing and the owner did not even check in on us after I told him we were stranded. I had put $150 gas in the day prior to fill up the tank to full, that's more then I needed to deliver it back with, I also had to throw out a fridge full of groceries we had bought for the following week. I left a pair of $200 Taos boots in the RV I asked the owner to return, and he has not responded to any of my requests. I need his full name, the current registration, my boots, because I will take him to small claims court if this is not resolved in the manner is should be. I believe this owner knew this was going to happen. When I asked him to send me copies of the contract I signed with him he send me pictures of a contract without my initials. I had initialed every page of the contract, and he send me a different one. This man is a scam artist. When I met him he told me he had a travel business in Japan that was not doing well financially due to Covid, and I think he is looking for ways to scam and make money. My trip was not as promised. I paid for a 2 week rental to go to Yosemite, and could not do it because the engine was not up to it. So we adjusted our plans and went to the coast, I put a mere 500 miles on it that first week, and still she broke down. I didn't finish the trip as planned. I do not think I should pay the security deposit you took out of my account of$1500, or the trip fee of $2295. Now he is asking me for $13,000
