We just got back from a 30 day RV trip using this rig. So, I have many thoughts to share because when you go on a trip for that long, you really get to know the RV and, you also get to know the owners. I know I scan reviews like crazy when I'm booking something, so I will try to give you everything you need to know. For those of you who don't want to read the entire thing, here is my review in two simple sentences:Book with Russell. Book this RV.More details:
1: The RV: is clean, well maintained, has everything you need (and more), and with the understanding that it's an RV and therefore isn't going to be the smoothest ride you've ever been on (this thing is big), it drives well and easily. It was daunting at first but we quickly got used to it. It was extremely comfortable to live in for a month, and we even miss it now that we've ended that portion of our trip. This is a good RV.2: The owner: Russell is wonderful. He is attentive, open, funny, and kind. I truly felt like he was our friend by the end of this experience. He cares about you (the renter) having an awesome trip. He goes over everything in great detail and makes sure you feel comfortable before you head off into the sunset. During the trip, since it was so long, he checked in a few times and, when we had a few slight hiccups, he was amazing at addressing them and supporting us through it. We did indeed get the inevitable flat tire (on a 30 day trip through the desert in 110+ degrees) and Russell truly went above and beyond to make sure we were safe, felt supported, and stress free. If we were going to get a flat tire on this trip (and again, it felt like a right of passage), it frankly couldn't have gone better. If we were ever going to do something like this again, I would rent from Russell in a heartbeat. Where the likelihood is low that we would, I am actually a little bummed we have no reason to work with him again. He made it that enjoyable.3: Outdoorsy: It's worth mentioning that in general the Outdoorsy experience was without issue as far as booking, prepping, and everything. You're already here so you probably already know it's a good system to utilize as a place to search for rigs. However I must include this as a bullet point because with the aforementioned flat tire, Outdoorsy's coverage was great. They did everything they could to get us someone in the middle of nowhere, and, were communicative when they couldn't until the following morning (because of course it happened at night). They sent out a great tire guy and, because Russell had a spare on the car, it cost us zero dollars (well, we of course tipped the tire guy for a job well done). So we were very satisfied with Outdoorsy's roadside assistance which should give you, a potential renter, some added peace of mind.Any cons? Sure - but all totally nothing worth even mentioning...but I will because you want to know them. The floor of the front passenger side of the rig (the truck part) gets really hot while driving because of the engine being underneath. But I put a towel down for under my feet and it was fine. The ceiling vents would blow open during driving and when we were working so hard to manage temperature inside the rig, this was annoying. BUT, we told Russell and he had a maintenance person coming the day after we returned it so this will be a non-issue for you. That was it.Renting from anyone on a place like this feels daunting because you NEVER KNOW. But we put our faith in this rental and it did not disappoint. It was a fantastic experience - an epic trip - and made so because Russell was so wonderful to work with and his RV is so fantastic (our kids LOVED the bunk beds and everything was just so comfortable). As I said. Book with Russell. Book this RV. You'll be happy you did.
