We had the time of our lives traveling in this van for two weeks across to Banff and Vancouver island. It is really roomy, easy to drive, and very cosy thanks to its insulation, warm lighting, and down blankets. Because of this, it does not get too hot or too cold like other vans. Has all the camping essentials that we needed. I always charged my laptop and worked out of the van (you do need starlink). Lots of storage space and a big bed with a fantastic mattress. Easy parking thanks to the backend camera. You need to use the mirrors to check your blind spot, as it does not have windows in the back. But we got used to it after the first day and felt secure driving it. Therefore, it is also really great for stealth camping, as it just looks like an ordinary car from the outside, which sometimes is handy in Canada. John is an exceptional host, he helped when there were issues with the outdoorsy app, was always reachable during the trip and so friendly. Next year we will be coming again!

This is a fantastic converted 2012 Ford Econoline that served us very well for a three week road trip around BC and AB. We particularly liked how well-maintained the van was, with a comfortable bed, proper feather duvets and facilities such as a water tap, table, battery, stove and chairs which made our trip very comfortable. The van also drives excellently and is easy to manoeuvre. John was a great host, quick to respond to any issues or questions. We’d highly recommend this van and John as a host!

We had a fantastic 2 weeks in John's van, exploring BC and Alberta. The van is very well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. The bed is super comfy and with a roof fan and heating, you can adjust to the perfect sleeping conditions accordingly! We loved being able to pull up at random spots, and in campsites and quickly put out the tables and chairs for some great outdoor dining (see pictures)! We even took the chairs down to the beach at our campsite in Tofino, as they were so quick to set up. John is friendly and a good communicator, and after a really helpful induction, was able to respond to a couple of ad-hoc queries while we were on the road! We look forward to renting again at some point in the future! Thanks John!

We rented John's van for a month-long voyage from Vancouver to Haida Gwaii and back. The van is a workhorse and everything aboard ran flawlessly throughout our trip of more than 3,000 kms. It is well equipped with the necessities for living independently on the road and we particularly liked the bed, which was super comfortable. We got great sleeps in some strange places! John is a super attentive host - always responded quickly to questions or comments and obviously has taken great care of this vehicle. We highly recommend the van and John as a host.

We had an amazing 10-day trip on Vancouver Island. John was a great host, very helpful and knowledgeable, gave us great advice. The campervan is reliable, very cozy and had everything we needed. We would definitely rent from John again.

John was an amazing host, when we needed to contact him he would reply almost instantly. His van was packed full of everything we needed, it had no issues whatsoever throughout our 4000+km journey over 29 days, it also came with such high quality camping gear, it felt like we were in a hotel every night. We couldn’t recommend John and his vans enough and would definitely be a return customer to John!

We had an amazing time in John's van. So well kitted out - had everything we needed. John was super helpful and responsive and the orientation when we picked the van up was really useful and got us used to driving before we headed off! We found some awesome spots to camp up around Squamish, Vancouver Island and Pemberton. Highly recommend this van and host - we will definitely be back!!

This vehicle is fantastic for a wonderful vacation across BC and beyond! It’s also very fuel-efficient, which is great for saving on gas. John really thinks about every little detail to make your trip as comfortable as possible. Plus, the communication is excellent, and he explains everything you need to know to have a fantastic time traveling.

La van était absolument parfaite pour mon voyage. John a été vraiment super gentil du début à la fin — la communication était facile et il a toujours pris le temps de répondre à toutes mes questions.
La van était confortable, sécuritaire et je n’ai eu absolument aucun problème pendant toute la location.
Je recommande fortement cette van sans hésitation !

Where to even start! This is our second year in a row hiring the van from John and if we were staying in Vancouver it would be an annual thing no questions asked.
We had the van for two weeks this time on a trip around the Sunshine Coast and surrounding islands! We only used two campsites as we found lots of great (safe and stealthy) spots to park up for the night without bothering anyone. The van itself is super stealthy as generally you may not realise it’s a camper van at first look.
Many days were spent cooking with the door open onto beautiful sceneries. We had many an onlooker stop and ask us to take a peak inside with many compliments on our journey.
The bed is so comfy and the duvet kept us really warm on some of the colder nights (baring in mind it is only April)
We cooked three hot meals a day for 14 days and when topping up the propane at the end had a whopping bill of $7 that blew our minds.
Cannot recommend John, or the van enough. He made it so easy and was kind enough to give us a returning customer discount for our trip. He answered every question I could think up and responded speedy which made us feel really secure.
Wonderful trip, wonderful van, wonderful host. 10/10.

This is my second time renting from John (used the van without the heater in my first trip) and had a great experience again! We rented in January and having the cabin heater kept the inside super warm - I even had to turn the heater down after a little while because it was getting too warm inside! The extra long bed was really comfy even if you're tall (my friend is and slept super well).

Thank you so much for an amazing trip! John was such a great host and responded to all our queries with super helpful responses. He made it so easy to rent a van coming from overseas, gave us heaps of local recommendations and answered any questions we had before the trip and throughout!

Had the most amazing two weeks travelling around Vancouver and the Sea to Sky Highway in John’s converted van. The van drove beautifully, was super comfortable, and had plenty of space for everything we needed. Everything about the trip was perfect — from the van itself to the pick-up and drop-off, and John’s excellent communication before, during and after the trip. I’d recommend John to anyone looking to hire through Outdoorsy. This was my first experience, and he made it incredibly easy!
