My name is Brian, I live in Santa Barbara. I like to spearfish, climb (trad and sport), scuba dive, backpack in Alaska and other wild lands, cook, and I'm a horrible but happy surfer:) I've been volunteering for our local search and rescue team for about 10 years, though I helped start a Virtual Reality company called WorldViz many years ago (2004). Except for a brief effort helping Canon USA ramp up a mixed reality department during 2016 out in NY, I've been with WorldViz since my last year of college. My neuropharmacology degree has been collecting dust. I grew up in a machine shop (my father's, [URL removed]), and have loved to build things ever since I could carry building supplies:)

The -electro lux- was a perfect vehicle for a getaway. It was stocked with everything you could possibly need. I forgot my can opener- but of course there was one in the van. The bed is super comfy and the van drives like a sedan. Brian is beyond efficient and has detailed instructions for almost everything. He is also a great communicator and when you pull of, there is a sense of confidence that he has went over everything. I am for sure going to be renting the van again and again. Thanks Brian for making my camping trip top-tier !!!!

Great van and easy. thorough communication with owner! I rented the Electro-Lux supervan for 10 days in March. I stayed at one location the whole time but the approx. 2 hours of driving I did in it was smooth and comfortable with no issues. The van iswell equipped with lots of camping and kitchen supplies. The cooler is great and there are plenty of outlets for charging. The bed is comfortable (firm) and clean. The owner's rep, Felix, was very thorough in going through all the details of how the van operates and where things were located and made sure I had everything I needed. Communication with Brian (owner) and Felix was great. Felix got back to me right away on the one issue I had on the trip even though it was 10 pm. Overall I would highly recommend for a great, comfortable West Coast adventure.

Would recommend to avoid at all cost. Over priced for what it is -- ameteurishly outfitted, some things (eg lights) not working fully and seem unfinished. Bed sagging in the middle and haphazardly rigged with plywood to offset the sag. Carpentry is rough, with split boards and visible nail holes. Dishes and stove were still dirty from previous user(s) (eg peanut butter and jelly still on knives, black grease all over stove). Owner lives in Germany and does logistics through a proxy, which leads to confusing communication and no real point of contact in the country. On the upside, the logistics guy (Felix) is very nice, and the battery system is absurdly overbuilt (750ah!?) so you can charge anything. The diesel engine works well and it drives reasonably. Still, the cons far outwiegh the pros, especially the odd situation with the owner. Steer clear.

We took the Electro-Lux to the sierra and we really loved it! The van drives awesome and has plenty of good features to enjoy! We loved the battery and the lighting as well as the fridge! All key elements to make your trip perfect!
The van comes with tons of equipment, kitchen, chairs, cooking stove (good one), mosquito net, portable shower, etc.
It was a nice experience and I would recommend to everyone!

Amazing rental experience. Brian was a great communicator, cool human, and very knowledgable about the van life. I took the van from Santa Barbara to Huntington beach and slept by the waves every night. Plenty of space and enough compartments to keep everything organized. Van ran very well and never had any issues. Looking to buy one now after the great experience. Thank you Brian !

My partner and I lived in this van for almost a month and so did some extensive field testing.Brian was responsive about this issue but was only willing to do the bare minimum to fix the problem. I drove to a battery shop that sold 3000W inverters but he was only willing to buy a $30 12 volt inverter (cigarette plug) that was 300W. This really limited what we could plug in. In theory, I should have been able to charge laptop and all batteries overnight, but in practice only one or maybe two of these things could be plugged in at the same time. Plugging anything heat producing like an electric kettle or low wattage hair dryer was out of the question. I found Brian to be overconfident in his electric system and feel he oversells how awesome it is in this listing.

Brian was quick to respond to us and accommodate our last minute request for our first time using Outdoorsy. Then van had everything we needed for our trip to Big Sur. We highly recommend his van!

Easy pick up and drop off. Brian was very easy to work with. The vehicle worked well for our weekend camp out at the lake. Would use Brian again for sure.
