Unfortunately, this trip was a nightmare trip. Like something out of a movie! I received no training and was handed the keys to get going without a walkthrough. He assured me it was cleaned and that he himself had checked it. So I went without walking through the place. While Dameon is a very nice guy and accommodating, he should have been embarrassed to send it out in this condition and lie about checking things. My family and I pulled over about an hour into the trip to get gas and the kids wanted to checkout the trailer. It was then that I realized he had locked the trailer to the truck and didn't provide a key :(. So I had to get bolt cutters to free the truck. The master bedroom doors are broken and held open by a shower rod which he did tell me that.Next we walked into the trailer and see mortified by the strong smell of fish and bbq sauce. We expanded the walkway and started inspecting the place only to find that every single storage was completely full of the owners personal items. So there is no room for your things :( pack light. Then we saw the stove was covered in food, the floors were filthy, the toilets and shower was covered in dirt and hair. A bra was left on the floor right out in the open. Then we opened the fridge and it was one of the dirtiest fridges I've ever seen. Then we opened the microwave to be greeted with hundreds of maggots sitting in old food and a very disgusting microwave. We had to decide on that moment to we cancel our trip or do we go buy cleaning materials and spend hours cleaning how rig for him top to bottom. The kids really didn't want to cancel and we didn't want to disappoint so we bought gloves febreeze and tons of cleaning supplies and got busy. Hours later it was clean but the smell wouldn't go away.So we went to a hotel and let it air out overnight with scented products and open windows. They helped but it still was tough to get used to.We arrived at the camping site and realized he never trained is how to level this thing so we asked our neighbors. They gave us bad advice which lead to bending the stabilizers. Expensive mistake. That same night water kept leaking under the stove and we couldn't figure out why. So I bought a screwdriver and removed the panel under the stove top find gushing water from a separated pipe. I noticed the pipes are hanging loose and not nailed up so this will likely happen again to the next person. The overall experience was so bad it left the family in a less then happy mood which led to a unhappy trip. We called it a day early and headed back. On the way home we had a tire blow out on us. We ended up calling AAA and they came out because there was no jack or tire iron to do it ourselves. They said all the tires look a little low and that could lead to blowouts, so I don't think the owner is keeping an eye on the tire pressures. In the end, the trip was horrible which I blame entirely on the lack of training and upkeep and zero effort in cleaning made for the rig.As a person Dameon is great, but as a host, I'd stay away from this one. I tried to give him a chance to make things right but he felt strongly that our assessments weren't accurate and that we spent too much on cleaning material and argued that their was no smell in there. Unfortunately if he couldn't smell that... It probably means the next renter will encounter the same issues of smell. He did offer to refund one night though that we lost in the hotel. In the end we were able to walk away calmly and without problem. He is very friendly which is why feel so bad giving this review but with his lack of apologizing and lack of taking ownership for what went wrong I felt it's necessary to share my experience to help others not run into this as well.
