Disappointing experience.1. Originally booked another van from same owner showing as available through the site. Got a message a little while after the booking that it wasn’t available but that this more expensive one was available. Decided to go ahead and book it anyway.2. Couple days before pickup started messaging to arrange a time & place for pickup. No response3. After some nail biting, got a call on the day of the scheduled camping trip to pick it up.4. Arranged a time to pick it up. Still had to wait about 2 hours for the person knowledgeable about the van to arrive and show us around the van.5. Van is advertised as wilderness van. However, no inverter and no electric cable provided meant - either buy the electric cable ourselves and find campgrounds with electricity hookup or go without electrical outlets in the van. Portable water to run kitchen, toilet runs off a tiny water jug. Bring extra water containers yourself! No shades or window coverings meant everyone can look into the van while sleeping and with the sun coming up early in summer it’s impossible to sleep in past 5:30 AM. No air conditioning in the back of the van. Driver and passenger are comfortable up front from AC. People in the back are hot and uncomfortable. Tires are for off-roading, but make for a noisy drive on the highway.Without a number of adjustments to the van and what is provided as part of the rental I don’t recommend renting it for any kind of trip.6. Returned van 5 days ago. Have not yet received damage deposit back even though inspection showed no damage (was barely used).7. Returned van 4 days earlier than planned - no word yet whether portion of rental fee will be returned. Owner says its up to Outdoorsy? So far, only thing reduced was insurance that had to be bought separately.
