About Matt's RV rentals
We are a little family of three who grew up in south (originally from Georgia) and have since planted roots out west in California. We are experienced with the outdoors and love camping and fly fishing. Our top trip in our camper van has been a 3 week road trip through Utah to Wyoming and Yellowstone where we filled our time outdoors horseback riding and fly fishing. Our adventure sidekick is a silver labrador who loves all things vanlife as well.

Dealing with Matt was easy enough and he was accommodating, but the van was handed over without a walk-through, which is fine, but the exterior of the van was dirty, to the point I had to wash the side view mirrors, just to be able to see. Interior was not very clean either, and I ended up wiping down the counter and floor, and vacuumed the space out behind the fridge, since it had a bunch of sand and dog hair in it, and I wanted to stow fresh water jugs there. There were two slots, (holes) in the flooring, covered with duct tape and a throw rug, right in the main entry, (side door). Rug has to be moved out of the way in order to access the fridge, and instinctively one tries his/her best not to step into the holes . Worst part was the bed. Nice enough mattress, and being oriented the way it is provides space, but I'm 5'10'' tall and I could not stretch out fully in that bed. Being a back sleeper, meant having to keep my knees bent, which led to sleepless nights. The electrical system is great, as is the plumbing and heating system. Powered air vent is also a nice feature. We couldn't use the little induction cook top, since our pans are stainless steel, which are not magnetic. So, if you plan to cook, either bring the appropriate pans, or a propane cook top to use outdoors. The pans in the van aren't in very good shape and I wouldn't recommend using them. The three drawers on the kitchen sink cabinet slide open and closed when taking turns, because the plastic child proof latches are not appropriate, and there is too much play in the drawers. However, vehicle handles very well, is easy to drive and park, but it could use a new set of tires, especially going into winter. All in all, nice van, but it could use a little TLC from the owners. I expected a little more effort by the owners, especially after paying over $600 dollars for 2 nights, not including gas and park fees.

We had a great trip for our honeymoon!!! Matt and his wife were incredibly flexible and delivered it to us! It made our trip so much easier and less hassle and was able to see more views. They even left us a cute gift for our trip! We so enjoyed being able to open the back doors and watch sunrises/sunsets from comfort of our bed. Everything worked amazingly. The temp in Yosemite at night got cold and we were very grateful we had the van instead of tent camping. If you’re questioning to do it or not, DO IT SO WORTH! Thank you Mathenys!!!!

Travelling in Matt's van has been great. It is perfectly ready to enjoy California and its beautiful places. Matt has done everything super easy for us and has been always available to make our trip even better. The van is not only super pretty but also very easy to use. We recommend everyone to rent it and have a great trip. It lived up to our expectations.

We enjoyed our trip to Yosemite and Calaveras with this great little camper van. It had everything we needed and nothing we didn't. Solar and battery worked great, the bed was comfortable and the van was easy to park and drive. Matt was responsive and made pickup and drop off easy in the quiet Sacramento neighborhood where the van is located. We highly recommend especially if you need "off grid" since everything worked great without hookups.
