As newbies to renting an RV it was amazing that someone responded very promptly to our questions over the weekend. Definitely will rent again from them!

Absolutely horrific. The RV was old and did not work, he is now holding our deposit and Outdoorsy so far has not done a. Thing to help me!

Rv For America ’s answer

Hi Auryn, I will not get into the intricacies as the RV was returned with interior damage (hence the security deposit hold) , the bags of marijuana found in the RV that thankfully our cleaning crew found before the RV departed 12 hours after we picked it up from you, and lastly the fact you stated the RV was not in working order when it clearly was and went out 12 hours later as the generator was used in its entirety by that renter. It's then that you decided you wanted a free trip after fully using the RV and put in a dispute with your card company trying to rob us. We appreciate your business, however, the way it was handled was unprofessional. Thank you.

RV arrived with smoke detector alarming. Battery was welded in and could not be changed. RV company told us to remove the smoke/CO detector. We had to travel without it. This is not safe. RV generator would stall after 5 to 20 minutes of use. RV company suggested adjusting the mixture. Hence, had to change plans and find shore power. Propane heating unit for heating the cabin was rusted out and failed to work. Spent 30 minutes with the RV company trying to trouble shoot. My family tried to sleep in the 42F degree cabin but could not. The RV was in poor condition with stains throughout. Doors to cabinets would not stay closed on normal roads and contents would fall out. Bathroom door does not close. This was insulting for over $3,000.

We had a wonderful experience with RV for America! It was our first time taking a trip in an RV and we will 100% do it again. Our trip took our family of 5 to Tennessee and then on to Nebraska. We had a lot of drive time and everything was comfortable and the RV was perfect for our trip! Everyone was super helpful in making sure we had everything we needed and that we felt prepared before our journey. All in all, a positive experience and we would highly recommend RV for America! Thank you for the memories and we look forward to doing it again!

This is the third time we've rented with RV for America and as always Cody was awesome with communication and flexibility taking all the stress we experienced with other prior rental companies out of the equation. Since finding RV for America a few years ago, I won't rent from anyone else. Highly recommend!

This was my first time renting an RV. RV for America was very nice and easy to deal with. Cody was amazing, and was available 24/7 for any questions or issues we had during the trip. Fortunately we didn't have any issues. I will absolutely rent from them again.

I am rating this two stars because the overall trip to Montana was an awesome experience. That said there are quite a few things about the rental experience that have left me with a very bad taste for RV rental. This is not the first time we’ve rented an RV and the other two times were, amazing experiences. I rented this class a 34 foot Fleetwood because I thought that a bigger, newer RV would give us the room and comfort we would need for this cross country trek. I was wrong. I rented this RV for 10 days. I explained from the beginning that I had my own insurance through state farm. You’re not required to use their service if you have your own and it has the coverage. I showed him documentation and they charged me the $500 insurance fee anyway. He said I would get it back before we left, I didn’t. I was supposed to rent for $342 less 10% for over 7 days. When I first saw their ad they were unlimited miles and generator hours. This all changed after we were quoted. When I went to pick up the RV they wanted $342 with no discount, and we would be charged $35 an hour over 24 for the generator hours and 2000 miles free. When I questioned it he said those were summer rates and he would correct the generator hours. A week before we were to pick up, he called me and said that he had booked the RV for the day before we were supposed to bring it back and could I come back early? I explained that this is my 30th wedding anniversary and to do that would mean I would have to leave on our anniversary and that this was just not possible. I tried to work with him and asked to pick up the RV a day early and then I will try to get it back to him by Thursday instead of Friday. He said he needed it first thing Thursday morning. Mind you, I am driving back from Montana on Monday, and he wanted it back by Thursday morning first thing. Then he asked me if I could have it back to him Wednesday night I explained that that was going to be difficult, considering we were driving straight through, but I finally gave in to the pressure and told him that we would have it back by Wednesday night. This completely screwed up my trip as I had planned to stop in Atlanta for my mother’s 78th birthday, catch a Braves game and rest but because of his insistence, we had to scrap those plans and drive straight through. I changed my plans, at his insistence , and he still charged me the day stating they didn’t refund for early returns even though he asked me to!! So I was over charged on the daily rate and screwed out of the last day of my rental and my insurance payment!! $1270
In addition to this, the RV itself was not, in my opinion, physically, ready for a trip of this magnitude and since I wasn’t allowed to see or drive the RV in advance, there were several things I wasn’t aware of before the trip except for what he told me.
One of the headlights was out so we had to use high beams the whole time. The windshield wipers only worked in one speed, slow. The dash lights were too dim to see very well even turned all the way up. Driving at night in the rain was treacherous and extremely unsafe.
The suspension on this RV was horrible as if there were no shocks whatsoever. At 65 MPH we felt every single bump and imperfection in the highway. It would rattle the thing like a go-kart and the dash would move up and down a good 6 inches. The seals on the slides are either shot or were never effective in the first place but any rain storm resulted in water coming in and soaking our stuff. It would get all the way to the sink area and every time it rained the generator would shut down. None of the windows down the driver’s side worked, they are all stripped out and stuck in the closed position.
As for the amenities there was no WiFi and no Bluetooth and no where to plug in a phone for navigation and unless the generator was running no way to charge a phone. The aftermarket radio only had AM/FM that rarely worked and couldn’t hear it. Out of the three TVs two were useless as the outdoor TV was linked to the bedroom TV and neither was a smart TV. Grill didn’t work as promised. To sum up, we had 8 passengers including an infant and I trusted that we were renting a vehicle that was in safe condition. If we were unknowingly allowed to rent a unit with faulty headlights, windshield wipers and dash lights that’s negligence. If it was knowingly that’s liable and fortunate nothing happened. Over booking is not the customer’s problem therefore if the customer is willing to help out the decent thing to do is not charge him for the day. In fact I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to collect rent from two parties on the same day. I will not rent from this company again.

It would helpful if there was a manual provided to ensure clear operational instructions are provided Also, needs to be super clear how to operate tanks; more specially, emptying tanks when the drop off and pick up is being paid for by the customer and provided by the company.

Overall great experience for our first time renting a RV! We were informed the generator was broken when we picked up which made the drive to and from the Keys pretty rough because it was hot. Cody was available for all questions and concerns and even compensated us for our troubles. I had never hooked up an RV before and it was fairly straightforward. Would definitely rent again!

It would be helpful to have a brochure or narrative that had some written instructions that were reviewed at the pick up verbally. It was hard to remember some of the instructions and this was our first experience in an RV.
