There are over 50 hikes in the Chugach State Park area itself. Another gorgeous place to visit is Hatchers Pass where you can see old mining ruins, do more hiking and rock climbing. Eklutna is a beautiful lake surrounded by mountain peaks where you can rent kayaks and hike. Seward, the gateway to the Gulf of Alaska offers wonderful wildlife viewing opportunities. Travel to portage to visit Portage and other nearby Glaciers. Girdwood is a charming town to visit with great local restaurants. There are numerous campgrounds within a 100-mile radius of Anchorage. Kenai area offers great fishing charters and rafting trips. The possibilities are endless!Other things to noteAbsolutely no smoking in the van.
