The RV worked out perfectly for us and Mike was super helpful ensuring we had a great trip. We’re a family of 4 and the sleeping arrangements with two in the back and two up top were more comfortable than I was expecting. It can feel a bit tight at times with the multi purpose living/dining/kitchen area, but the inside space is well arranged to maximize the space and it’s a worthwhile tradeoff for the maneuverability of a van compared with a much larger RV. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to take an RV for a few nights with 4 or fewer people.

We had an amazing trip. Mike was beyond helpful. Everything we needed he provided. The van itself was so comfortable and reliable. The drive was great. Truly an amazing experience. Mike was a great host; friendly and kind. Not to mention he was a saving grace when I left my purse in the van and he was so gracious to bring it to the airport after dropping us off. We wouldn’t have made the flight without him.

Mike was a terrific host and had us out and on our way in what felt like a super safe and perfectly outfitted rig. We had a wonderful trip to Yosemite, Mammouth lakes, and Seqouia and Kings Canyon National Parks.
Mike’s camper and was a perfect way to roll through our 10 day trip.

Highly recommend renting from Mike & California Van Life. This is about our 9th RV/campervan rental and by far the cleanest one on pick up! The entire pick up process was easy and smooth as well as drop off. The outdoor stove that was included with the van was our favorite add on. Also, Mike threw in all the bedding we wanted and pots/pans/utensils/etc… we had the best experience and hope to do it again one day!

The RV was pristine, like-new, and stocked with the essentials (bedding for both beds, 4 pillows, a big blanket, 4 towels, a teapot, propane, some basic kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, dish soap). The fridge was a mini-fridge that had AMPLE space for our family's supplies, although I wouldn't keep ice cream in the freezer—we got a pint of Sherbert that we had to smash in sideways to fit, and it ended up leaking a little bit into the fridge. Everything was easy to use, and Hubs reports it was easy to drive even up some narrow windy roads in Sequoia and Yosemite. The front seats were very comfy, but the girls didn't like their bench seats... they described them as rigid, and the seatbelts were very unforgiving so they felt kind of "trapped." The non-window seat had no views out any of the windows which was a bummer driving through National Parks. We followed a tip from another reviewer and put our clothing in packing cubes while Mike stored our big suitcases in his garage—that worked out great. Having the ability to rent camping chairs was huge, too! One less thing to schlep across the country. Our daughters slept in the van (teenage in the pop-up, 10-year-old in the back) while grownups slept in a tent nearby. The girls loved their private spaces and reported they were super comfy. We did not need heat or air conditioning while parked so we can't comment on that, nor did we use the shower. We didn't plan on using the toilet, but it ended up coming in clutch, and the dumping part ended up being much less disgusting than we feared :) We would DEFINITELY rent from Mike again! Thank you!

Awesome experience from the get-go. California Van Life was very communicative and professional throughout the entire process starting with a welcome message immediately following my reserving the van. When we picked up the van, Mike was incredibly gracious and was a great tutor for learning the ins and outs of the van. The van itself was well-equipped, immaculate, and a pleasure to drive and camp in. California Van Life will be out go-to for future reservations!

We had an awesome time in this Winnebago Solis. It was a pleasure to drive and was easy to operate. Mike was super helpful and provided us with a great handover and showed us how everything worked so we were well prepared. We visited Sequoia and Yosemite and had an amazing time. We would definitely hire from Mike again!

My husband, 9 year old son and I had a great trip in the Solis 59P. Mike was super helpful, answering my many questions leading up to the trip. A lot of useful items were included with the van (cookware, utensils, plates, sheets, towels, pillows, outdoor chairs etc). The van is easy to drive, and a much more pleasant ride than a 25' RV I previously rented, and will fit in standard parking spaces. Mike gives a detailed walk-through of the van's operation during the pick-up, and it is very easy to operate. This van operated "off the grid" for an entire week on the solar panels alone without any electric hook ups-very impressive!! We used the heat most nights and the propane was still 2/3 full when we returned it. One tip-I used packing cubes for clothing which made storage really easy since large suitcases will not fit in the van. We left our luggage w/ Mike and that worked out very well. Would highly recommend this van! Thanks again, Mike!

We had such a blast renting this van, it’s so easy to drive around and park conveniently in a regular parking lot. Mike was very flexible with our plans and generous to let us borrow the van a few more hours than planned for. This van was so perfect for our needs, very comfortably fitting two of us and we agreed four could work as well! We spent a week traveling up to Yosemite, Napa valley, San Francisco, and Santa cruz. There were no problems with the van. Pick up eas easy and the van was so so clean upon arrival. Mike took the time to ensure we understood how everything worked as this was our first van rental. Couldn’t recommend more!
