Review summary
Responsive and supportive host
Ben quickly answers questions via text/email and is described as very communicative and kind by multiple guests.
Handles challenging roads with quirks
Successfully navigated Hana and Haleakala, but a loose roof bar created an unpleasant driving noise on bumpy surfaces. AC is also not working.

4.0PROS: We had a wonderful time. Visiting Maui with this van was very cool. Ben is a good host and anwser quickly to our question via texto or email. The van is exactly as described: An old van (2007) well maintained reliable with low millage. The bed is very confortable (a must in camping 😉) and it is full equiped with almost everything you need. Cons: We’ve been to 4 différents camp sites and none of them had some electricity. So if the van could have a solar panel and a second battery, it would make a word of difference. Because if the van is not running, you going to drain the only battery very quickly. For example, at Wai’anpana where we parked for 3 days (without electricity) we used the cooler of another van equiped with solar panel parked beside us. The other solution would have been to let the van run (and that doesn’t make anysense…) Because there are no electricity available anywhere, a percolator coffee pot that you can boil on the little stove would be lot more useful than the electric coffee maker. An electric coffee maker has an heating element that take to much current for the oly battery available.

3.0Found it to be an ok vehicle to get us from A to B (road to hana was tough as there’s a metal bar on the roof that was out of place and kept hitting the roof going over bumps/uneven road - wasn’t pleasant for the drive until we got on smooth surfaces). Some items in the campervan were just almost thrown in for the sake of it we feel. There was a mug that was missing a handle thrown in with cooking gear. Other things like the beach chairs were dirty, broken and full of sand. Seat covers were ripped underneath. Overall maintenance of the car seemed to lack any recent effort and was just sort of thrown together recently for our trip it felt like to us. So was fine to get us around Maui, for sure, but feel a bit disappointed with how it was inside and the maintenance with the Van. Just needs a bit more taking care of for the next people we feel!

4.0We had a great trip and really enjoyed Ben's van so much. Everything on Board, except a can opener. :) We found a wonderful Spot to stay. I can recommend this van.
