The Campanero is a well-maintained, clean, and über-functional vintage Volkswagen Pop-Top Camper. It steals the show from bulky, bloated RVs!Four (4) adults can travel and sleep in cozy comfort, expect 15 to 20 MPGs, AND it fits in a regular parking spot! Easy to drive and even more versatile than you can imagine!Quick and easy camp set up AND pack up make the Campanero perfect to see it all on your California road trip! Similar to the old Westfalia vans, except with a more powerful VR6 engine, safety features, and even more amenities! You can easily see the beautiful sunrise in the desert or mountains and then watch the sun set at the beach in the same day. The Campanero only takes moments to have the perfect camp!The inside is equipped with a sink, compact refrigerator, 2-burner stove, digitally controlled furnace, privacy window shades, window bug screens, a closet with shelves & hangers to keep your gear out of the way - yet easily accessible; kitchen cabinets, under-seat storage, and 2 beds for up to 4 adults to cruise and cozy up together! It even has an outdoor shower sprayer to hose off after a fun day in the sun and sand or to clean up at camp!The Campanero recently completed a Cross Country Winter Camping Road Trip from Los Angeles to Toronto in January 2023, with all the fun stops along the way! In preparation for the journey, we had it fitted with new brakes and new tires that performed exceptionally in all conditions (Nokian Outpost APT, we highly recommend!). So when you roll into camp, just pop the easy-lift top bunk, spin the front seats around, and enjoy your setup! • Since The Campanero is a vintage VW, we require adding RV rental interior damage protection coverage and other damage coverage to your reservation. This can be purchased up until the day before your booking begins.Although we make our very best effort to maintain accurate listing information, this listing, amenities, availability, etc. are all subject to change without notice. • IMPORTANT! - No standing, walking, sitting, or placing any objects on any roof surfaces. They are plastic and will break and they cannot simply be replaced. Significant fees in addition to actual repair costs may apply.
• Please Please Please NO SMOKING. Significant fees apply for smoke damage.
• Renters must send their itinerary beforehand
• The Campanero requires a 7'6" minimum height clearance and may NOT fit in some parking garages.
• NO TOWING - hitch is for a bike rack, ski/snowboard rack, and cargo carrier only.
• Removing evidence of Smoking, Pets, Pet Stains, Other Stains, Odors, Damage, etc. may incur a fee in addition to the actual repair costs.
• Excessive wear and tear, excessive cleaning, and other end-of-trip fees may apply as necessary to keep the Campanero in tip-top shape for everyone to enjoy.
• Travel in or through Mexico is absolutely prohibited at this time.
• There is no driving off-road or on unpaved roads. We don't want you to get stuck in the middle of nowhere! We ask for your itinerary and travel plans to ensure you have a good, safe trip and avoid damaging The Campanero.
