Hi! I’m Mandy. In the summers you can find me exploring Alaska with my husband and daughter. My husband is part of the search and rescue unit with the Alaska National Guard. In the other months, I am an art teacher at a local elementary school. We have been in Alaska for 13 years and have loved every minute of it. This is our first year with our RV and want to share the adventures with you. We hope to meet you soon!

• Please treat our RV as if it were your own. We take great pride in being able to offer a beautiful RV and amenities that most other charge fees for but we feel having more creates a better experience for all parties involved.
• Again, please do no take this off road for an extended period of time. There are many places on the road system that have gravel entrances, which is fine, but long distances are prohibited. It’s hard on you as passengers and the RV.

Q.Are there any special tricks and tips that would help with operating the RV easily?
A.
When opening up the slide outs, please extend fully. Failure to extend fully could cause a misalignment of the mechanisms, of which would cause issues with retracting. If they become misaligned, it is the renters responsibility to pay for a technician to reset the extension mechanisms.
Q.How do the electric, water and sewage hook up work while setting up at the campground?
A.
If you are planning to stay at a camp ground or RV park for a length of time, the supplied 30 AMP electrical cord should be used for shore power. Water supplied by camp grounds can be plumbed into the RV with the supplied drinking water hose with attached filter and pressure regulator. Finally, if hooking up sewage lines, connect the lines to the RV and septic pipe. Once connected, open the valve by pulling the handle.
Q.Can I go on top of the RV?
A.
You shouldn’t have any reason to be on top of the RV, unless it is to clear obstructions (tree branches, clearances, etc). IF you have a reason to be on top of the RV, GetAKway LLC is not liable for injury should an accident occur.
Q.Can I take the RV to Kennicott Mine?
A.
No, the road system becomes unpaved after the river and is not in great condition, thus we restrict the RV from being taken to Kennicott.
