2005 Forest River Rockwood
Fed up with tent camping? Curious about popups? I was ! and bought one .. and created fantastic memories with my kids (now grown up). I've kept to the camper for festivals and such. It's nice to have a little home away from home when needed, but use so rarely, so why not let others use it. What's includedA few things to know about this little gem ... It's super cozy.. nothing like being able to stand up in your tent camper, sleep on a comfy mattress, switch on lights and make coffee inside in the morning. You'll need a beefy V6 to tow, this weighs in around 2000lbs, which is light for some popups but when loaded up, is too much for a 4cyl.
The popup is in great condition ..but a couple of things to know. The factory heater doesn't work. (They are noisy and have a huge battery drain). If you want some heat, I'd suggest a Mr. Heater Buddy. The fridge is not operational either. If you're camping with a family, they are so small you'd need large coolers anyway.
I've added mattress toppers for additional comfort. Popups come from the factory with godawful mattresses.
The kitchen will be fully stocked with kettle, pots & pans etc. The propane gas tank for the stove will be full and the battery for interior lights, fully charged.
Popup's don't have greywater tanks, so all kitchen water has to be collected and disposed of correctly. (Bucket supplied)
No water heater, no toilet , no outdoor shower. This trailer is light and nimble. Bare bones but super clean and well-kept interior.
Winding the top up takes some grunt, you'll get a good workout, but just a minute or so. Towing is very easy and being so small can get into almost any campground that allows trailers. I will attach an instructional video for set up and take down.
Happy trails!
RecommendationsI have taken this rig all over Cal, from remote lakes in Tahoe to Joshua Tree. Easy to tow and makes family camping so much easier. Can't recommend it highly enough.Other things to noteWe'll need to discuss Burning Man ... I know it would get trashed and need a major major deep clean after.
