5.0We had an incredible time with Gertie driving around Washington from Mt Baker to Deception Pass and Whidbey. Gertie is smooth to drive and fits well into parking spots. It's got a lot of modern technology that you'd want (backup camera, backup sensors, land detection) if you aren't familiar with driving a larger vehicle. It's got a propane heater for the evenings, but I also brought a down quilt just in case. For 3 nights we didnt run out of water, propane, or fill up the septic. We cooked breakfast and dinners and used the heater all night. Sometimes turned on the generator to charge the battery. Turning on the generator, lights, water is easy. All the controls are on an electronic control panel. I stored my skis in the bathroom and it fit well, but I had a smaller ski bag (not a roller sized bag). There's a basic kitchen set with a pot, pan, spatula, tongs, cleaning equipment. Good for making pasta, seafood, eggs, sausage, etc. Wouldn't recommend doing too much cutting, prep work for dinners since room is tight. Note, even with opening the door to cook and turning on the fan, the smoke detector does go off. It's easy to manage though. Super easy to drive Gertie in a more snowy winter environment (heading up and down from Mt Baker). I'd recommend using the paddle shifters and sticking it into 1st or 2nd gear and riding it the whole way down. No issues at all with traction even on a POW day :D We were also able to take the van onto a ferry from Clinton to Mukilteo. No issues with clearance height on our trip. Chris is easy to get in contact with and provides a great tutorial video on how everything works. I'd recommend downloading the video on YouTube in case you lose signal. Pickup and drop off were smooth as well. Overall really enjoyed our trip!

5.0Chris sent us a great video which introduced us to the van and its systems. Chris was super quick to answer our questions. Our first night we were cold due to my “boomer brain syndrome “. After a YouTube video we got the heat going and became happy campers! When we returned the van, Chris pointedly asked us how he could have explained the heater better.

5.0Gertie was perfect for my five day trip! Comfortable bed, lots of storage space, kitchen, bathroom, lots of lights, modern control panel setup, it had everything I needed. Easy and fun to drive. Would definitely rent again!
