Review summary
Inconsistent communication, unresolved issues
Communication was good pre-trip, but inconsistent post-trip and during problem resolution. The host accused renters of damage for known issues and didn't fulfill reimbursement promises.
Drives well, numerous functional issues
The van drives well and is comfortable but had empty water/propane tanks, a propane leak, a faulty water inlet, and a broken tire holder. The fridge latch and inadequate supplies were also noted.

5.0Great experience from beginning to finish! The app has several options to pick from and the communication was also great! From direct messages with the van owner to schedule to pick up and drop off, to the walk through in detail also allowing me to film parts of it in case I forgot it later. I loved that this van also had a wireless way to access the manual. This van was super cute and smooth to drive. Everything I needed worked and my doggie and I had a great time. It was GREAT to not have to leave the van in the middle of a cold night to use a campsite restroom, the restroom worked great. I made meals using the little kitchen, the sleeping quarters were comfortable and the blanket that they provide is super warm! Overall I had a great experience renting through Outdoorsy and will DEFINITELY do it again!! I think I like this way more than hotels to be honest, it's a lot more private!

3.0Over all it was a great trip and we had fun making memories that will last forever. The good: They communicated well prior to the trip and during the trip, less so afterwards when there was a post trip issue. The van is fine - well loved but comfortable. Drove well for the most part. No complaints in that department. The bad: 2 towels for 3 people when you know it is 3 people leaves someone using hand towels at the showers, one blanket for three people leaves a 2 people cold. The fridge needs a latch or a way to prevent it from opening on every turn. The radio is difficult to use but did come preloaded with some Japanese music. I would also recommend some how to videos on like YouTube you could reference later. The ugly: after the trip we were accused of braking the tire holder on the back of the van. It was hanging on by a thread when they gave it to us, said the know about it and try to be easy on it - which we were - about 800 miles later the metal finally gave way. No surprise this is wear and tear - but to accuse your renter of this is absurd. You knew of the issue and had not fixed it. Take pictures of everything especially when they tell you not to worry about it.

1.0Series of unfortunate events? I flew into SLC, picked up the RV and headed out/off grid to Moon Lake. Bottom line, found myself with an EMPTY Water Tank and EMPTY Propane Tank. Worse yet a "propane leak" that I'm sure endangered me, those around me and the National Forest I was in. I spent a full afternoon driving from town to town trying to fill the water tank (that was never going to fill), performing Macgyver wiring tricks (at the direction of the host's son over the phone) trying to repair the water inlet valve that would later be deemed faulty. Twice I was promised reimbursement for the fuses, water, my time "and more" which I have yet to receive. The icing on the cake was feeling gaslit by the host when I made it back to SLC and returned the RV. The son was kind and skillful in his blameless apologies, the dad - not so much. Lastly, although I am not a novice camper, solar is new to me. I wish I had rented the generator for the peace of mind that I had battery life to work with. Why it's not just included when you're going off grid seems ill guided. In this situation however, maybe it was divine intervention (remember the propane leak?). Just too much and not enough.

5.0These guys were so great to work with! Communication was always quick. This van was perfect for our needs to fly fish in Montana. They thought of everything with this custom build. Even a projector and movie screen in the back! Drop off was so easy - all we had to do was fill up the gas. Would definitely rent from them again.
