About Andrew Potts
I moved to Kauai in early 2023 from San Diego after visiting the island for just a few days in 2022. Since then, it has been an amazing home and I'm still not done exploring everything there is to offer. I love sharing my van with first-time visitors and island regulars/residents. If you know what van life is about and love a vintage experience the Snowball will be your perfect fit! Just a heads up this van doesn’t really have showering capabilities so make sure you investigate how you’ll do your bathing well in advance but if you’re on a budget, especially and you don’t mind using the YMCA or beach showers taking a van around the island is the absolute best way to see it. We love the option to sleep upstairs or downstairs, depending on preference and it was so convenient to have a kitchen with running water at our fingertips. Andrew was such a responsive and responsible host. Make sure you ask him any questions or doubts you have before you get in the van so you feel prepared for the adventure to come. We’re happy to call Andrew and Julia amigos after such a wonderful welcoming.

Andrew made everything super easy from an airport delivery, he was easily contactable and provided some great insight and advice for the trip ahead. No fuss check in and out. The van is kitted out so well, my partner and I both being chefs by trade enjoyed the kitchen setup with utensils galore. Our only concern was that we couldn't stay longer!

Andrea’s van was a great way to explore Kauai! My husband and I rented it for our 8-day trip to celebrate our anniversary and had our best vacation in a long, long time. Wish that we were still there. The van was a nice upgrade to our Volkswagen Eurovan that we have at home and gave us lots of flexibility. We used the van as our base camp for our Nāpali Coast backpacking trip and camped Kumu Resort, Kokee State Park, and Salt Pond Beach Park. Kumu was our favorite camp with nice neighbors, hot shower, and a beautiful beach. Andrew was a responsive and wonderful hosting giving us great recommendations for hiking., food, beaches, and more. Pickup and dropoff of the van at Andrew’s house was an easy Uber ride from the airport. Definitely recommend Andrew and his van for your next trip to Kauai:)

Bed was little short for anyone 6 foot+ might need a bigger bed. Overall great camper and easy to drive.

It was amazing - wish it was 4 wheel drive for certain occasions but all in all Andrew was amazing and so was his van 🙌🏽 would recommend for adventurous people!

We had such a great time and enjoyed viewing the island. Definitely planning to come back!!

Andrew was a great host, very helpful and responsive and made everything easy for us with delivering and returning the van.
The van worked well for our purpose of wanting to see a lot of the island without being tethered down. It is in good shape and comes with some nice amenities. The bed is most suitable for a solo person or a couple with both parties under 5’8’’.

We really enjoyed the 3 nights trip with Snowball and made a very special birthday experience in Kauai:)
We were amazed at how the space can be used very efficiently. We were a group of three people but Snowball could easily fit 4 people, including our 4 suitcases and 2 backpacks. Also, I liked the stove + sink area. All kitchen stuff was very well equipped and we could feel the host's consideration of our trip!
Sleeping was good. It has a nice vented system upper and down the floor. very cozy and spacious.
Andrew the host was so easy to reach out to, good communication, and we appreciated his flexibility and recommendations of Google Maps Spot.
Of course, snowball is a delicate old car, and the engine is not the most powerful for going uphill, but it has a unique character and all of us fall in love with Snowball.

Wonderful Van, awesome stay! Andrew was always very quick to communicate and met us at the airport the morning of our flight home for easy drop off.

No issues at all with Andrew or his van. He was very quick to reply with any questions we had during our rental. His van was great and made our Hawaiian vacation a memorable one!
