There are several affordable campsites around the island, some available on short notice (links and details below). Keep in mind that reservations for the Kalalau Trail and Napali Coast go fast! Links to the reservations in recommendations below.The camper comes with everything you need to live inside, but if you'd like extras like a grilling set, tent, hammock, or beach supplies (towels, fins, beach umbrella, speaker), please check out the add-ons.I'm 6ft tall and use the van comfortably. This is a standard roof, interior floor-to-ceiling is 63". The bed is 65" long (5'5") x 44" wide (The mattress is between a twin and full). Andrea’s van was a great way to explore Kauai! My husband and I rented it for our 8-day trip to celebrate our anniversary and had our best vacation in a long, long time. Wish that we were still there. The van was a nice upgrade to our Volkswagen Eurovan that we have at home and gave us lots of flexibility. We used the van as our base camp for our Nāpali Coast backpacking trip and camped Kumu Resort, Kokee State Park, and Salt Pond Beach Park. Kumu was our favorite camp with nice neighbors, hot shower, and a beautiful beach. Andrew was a responsive and wonderful hosting giving us great recommendations for hiking., food, beaches, and more. Pickup and dropoff of the van at Andrew’s house was an easy Uber ride from the airport. Definitely recommend Andrew and his van for your next trip to Kauai:)

Andrew was a great host, very helpful and responsive and made everything easy for us with delivering and returning the van.
The van worked well for our purpose of wanting to see a lot of the island without being tethered down. It is in good shape and comes with some nice amenities. The bed is most suitable for a solo person or a couple with both parties under 5’8’’.

Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?

I am very flexible with pick-up and drop-off times. Outdoorsy defaults to 3pm pick-ups and 11am drop-offs, but I can schedule around your arrival and departure flights (if applicable)
Q.Are there any campgrounds where we shouldn't stay?

Lydgate Beach Park and Ahukini State Park are both areas I would avoid camping for the night. Even during the day there are thefts.
Anini and Salt Pond are two of my favorites to camp!
Q.How does using the bathroom work in this camper?
A.
Starting Jan 2024, I will have a portable toilet available as an add-on for $30. Most renters find the public restrooms and showers at the campgrounds and beaches work for their trip, but if you'd like one for peace of mind please to so!
Emptying the portable toilet will be the renter's responsibility.
